Food Compass 2.0: An Updated Holistic Nutrient Profiling System
Virtual, Event
December 3, 2024
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Tufts University introduced the Food Compass nutrient profiling system in 2021. In an October 8 Nature Food publication, authors present an update to the system based on new nutritional data and scientific feedback.

The Food Compass responds to a need for tools to better distinguish differences in the healthfulness of items that appear to have similar nutrition, reflecting the protective or harmful impacts of specific ingredients, processing methods, nutrients and bioactive components. It is capable of rating individual foods as well as mixed meals and whole diets.

Join IAFNS and the food and nutrition community as we welcome one of its creators, our speaker as he presents the tool advancements, applications and future prospects.
