Understanding and Leveraging Individual Response to Diet via the Gut Microbiome: Expert Dialogue
Washington DC, USA
March 21, 2025

Precision nutrition considers individual response to ingredients, foods and diets. Research indicates that given the exact same fiber intervention, gut microbiome responds with marked differences.

Significant research investment is currently in play to better understand these individual responses and how to leverage them for optimal health.

In this dialogue, IAFNS’ Gut Health and Carbohydrates Committees will engage with experts to discuss current methods for understanding individual response, what we know today, and how this can be applied now and in the future to achieve health benefits through individual dietary guidance or product development.

The panel includes:

Jack Gilbert, PhD, University of California, San Diego

Sean Gibbons, PhD, Institute for Systems Biology

Amanda Poole, PhD, Cornell University

This activity is organized by the IAFNS Nutrition for Gut Health Committee.
