IAFNS Emerging Leaders Awards promote excellence in the food safety and nutritional sciences as evidenced by research, leadership, initiative, collaboration and communication. There are two awards—one for food safety and one for nutritional science —aimed at those with less than 10 years since completing their academic training. Details on how to apply here. The award includes a cash prize and a speaking slot at our annual meeting in June.
Open to U.S. and Canadian professionals, the award includes $2,000 in unrestricted cash and travel expenses to Washington DC for the IAFNS Annual Summer Science Symposium at the National Press Club in June 2025. Winners will be awarded a speaking slot at the symposium to share their insights and accomplishments and receive their plaque.
Self-nominations are welcome. Applications will be judged on the applicants’ research, communication, leadership and collaboration skills and accomplishments. We encourage all young researchers and professionals to learn more about this opportunity, which is geared toward emerging leaders.
One award will be for food safety and another for nutrition. Qualifications include employment in academia, industry or government with a primary role as a researcher in the areas of food safety or nutritional sciences. This award is intended for U.S. or Canada-based researchers. Have additional questions? Email emergingleaders@iafns.org for more information.
