webinar
April 26, 2024

1-2 pm ET

Discussions around ultra-processed foods continue and there is general agreement that the mechanisms underlying associations with health outcomes require elucidation. Dr. Kevin Hall (NIDDK) is developing a research program with ARPA-H (Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health) that aims to:

  1. Test leading hypotheses around the primary potential mechanisms of ultra-processed foods;
  2. Re-engineer foods to address these mechanisms and create products that are beneficial to health; and
  3. Test these products in controlled intervention studies.

Dr. Hall is seeking industry partnerships to inform optimal study design and to support development of study foods (at the cost of ARPA-H). In this webinar, the project concept will be presented, the role of interested partners will be reviewed, and we will have time for direct questions and dialogue with Dr. Hall on this opportunity.

The goal of this event is to brief the IAFNS community on the project and to initiate consideration for the partnership.
