What is the Food Classification Workshop about?
The Workshop will gather scientists, regulatory professionals, policy-makers, and stakeholders from various disciplines with an interest in understanding the science basis for various classification systems and how they can best support research on food-health relationships.
Presenters will explore and discuss the value and consequences of food processing technologies, the science basis and validity of various systems, and potential mechanisms underlying associations with health outcomes. The workshop discussions will culminate on key considerations for food classification systems for research.

What is included in the registration?
In addition to the dialogue at the Food Classification Workshop, IAFNS will provide:
- Lunch beginning at 1130am ET on May 16 for in-person attendees.
- Light breakfast at 830am ET on May 17 for in-person attendees.
- All registrants - both in-person and virtual - will have priority viewing of the workshop recordings after the meeting.
The registration fees for this event help offset the cost of the workshop.
Do I need to be a member of IAFNS to participate?
No! This is a scientific workshop. We welcome and encourage participation by ALL regardless of current or prior affiliation with IAFNS to join us virtually.
Unfortunately, due to meeting room size restrictions, we are forced to limit the in-person attendees.
Are there discounted registration rates available for students and faculty? Are there discounted registration rates available for government scientists?

Yes! We are offering group discounts for virtual attendees. Please email us at science@iafns.org to learn more if you are interested in registering 5 or more professionals from the same organization.

Due to the low registration fees, no refunds will be given. However, substitutions are encouraged. Contact us at science@iafns.org to support transferring your in-person or remote registrations.
Additionally, as a registrant, you will be entitled to priority viewing of the workshop recordings after the meeting.
