IAFNS Announces New Executive Director

IAFNS is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Wendelyn Jones as its new Executive Director. Dr. Jones has a strong scientific background in the food, agriculture and chemical industries, and brings over 20 years of global experience in industry and government. Under this new leadership, IAFNS will continue its legacy of scientific integrity while developing innovative solutions for today and tomorrow’s scientific opportunities and challenges.


Dr. Jones earned her PhD in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Bioengineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She began her career at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and United States Department of Agriculture, and she most recently served as a Global Leader at Corteva Agriscience. Dr. Jones’ experiences in the public and private sectors will foster an engaging and productive environment within the IAFNS community.

Dr. Jones will join IAFNS on September 3rd, 2019. We extend to her a warm welcome, and we look forward to having Dr. Jones lead our efforts to advance food safety and nutrition science for the betterment of public health.
