Mobilizing Knowledge

As a science organization, IAFNS respects the power of knowledge. Research is our passion, and we are committed to ensuring it is performed and distributed to support public health. We do this through our collaborative and inclusive tripartite structure – the first and perhaps most critical piece of our organizational strategy.

This structure brings together scientists from government, industry, and academia – a diversity of perspectives – to create an environment that by nature is prime to translate information to action, or how we like to say, “to mobilize knowledge”.  Because scientific knowledge is no good if no one can apply it, our mobilization activities are paramount to our success in supporting evidence-based decision making and ushering forward positive change across the entire food and beverage ecosystem.

In today’s day and age, information is everywhere. When information is shared and knowledge results, the potential impact is unlimited. But there is a strategy and art to how to ensure it reaches those who want it, need it and especially those who can put it to work for the betterment of our world. We are proud of the science we fund. We are proud of our reach and ability to convene groups in the name of science. And we are excited to continue to grow, always looking for new approaches and platforms to get the research where it needs to go.

In 2022, IAFNS supported 23 peer-reviewed scientific papers and hosted over 150 speakers at 37 events. Our webinars reached more than 11,000 nutritionists and food safety professionals in government, industry, academia and other stakeholder groups.

Our approach to delivering science that matters never just stops when a peer-reviewed paper is published, a webinar hosted, or a symposium ends. Catalyzing science is what we do, but mobilizing knowledge puts that science to work, and we’re all better for it. At IAFNS, we catalyze the science and mobilize the knowledge so that all can make science and evidence-base decisions.

Join us as we catalyze science that matters and mobilize knowledge to advance public health!
